San Francisco 2009: Part 3

Day 5: Carmel and Beach Blanket Babylon

After 2 glorious days in Napa Valley, we decided to spend our last full day in Carmel. It was quite a drive (2 1/2 hours), but we heard so many wonderful things about it so we had to check it out for ourselves. It was another uniquely beautiful California treasure. Our only complaint was we didn't have enough time..."There's never any time! I don't have to wash my hair, I'll never get into Stanford. I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so...scared." Please excuse that sudden Saved By The Bell outburst. I actually saw that episode on TV the other day. Classic! But back to Carmel. We ate another delicious breakfast, shopped, visited Pebble Beach and took a portion of the 17 mile drive (we had to cut the drive short to find a gas station). Time flew and we had to head back to San Fran to make it to the famous musical Beach Blanket Babylon. The show was SO MUCH FUN and made for a fabulous last night of our trip.

While I spent 45 minutes in the dog store buying treats for my brother Jake and niece and nephew Maggie and Cooper, Jon was out taking these amazing pictures:

And my personal favorite...

This show was too much fun! Snow White is trying to find true love. Different people come into help her travel around the world in search of her prince charming. What makes the show so entertaining is it's based on popular culture. You know all the songs they sing (they just change the words) and recognize every character...Sarah Palin, Beyonce, the Jonas Brothers, Madonna, Bill Clinton to name a few. It's hard to explain, but if you're ever in the area, I highly recommend it!!! It will make you laugh and have you tapping your foot in your seat!

Day 6: Trolley Ride, Cliff House Round 2 and Back to the Lone Star State

The Trolley cars were so cool! First, I had no idea they stopped at the end of their route and someone actually manually turns them around...crazy! They're so old and pretty much run the city. They don't have to stop at lights. They own the town. I'm so glad we had time before we left for an official ride! After our trolley fun, we loaded up the car and made one last stop on the way to the airport. Cliff House was pretty dark the night of our anniversary and the gift shop was closed, so I wanted to go back to take a few pictures and get a little something from the shop. The bonus was we ended up eating brunch too and the food was beyond yummy!

That's it folks!

The only thing we regretted was the fact we never could track down DJ and the rest of the Tanner family! (I'm a huge tool I know!)
