To honor our son Smith Randle Bailey and help keep his memory alive during the holiday season, we started a little something called Smith's Stocking. The idea came about last year. We didn't want Smith's stocking to hang empty above the fireplace. We wanted to fill it with something. So we decided to ask friends and family to make a donation to March of Dimes in his memory.
March of Dimes is a non-profit organization whose mission is
to help moms have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten
the health of babies. We are specifically encouraged by their Prematurity
Research, which includes working to identify the cause of premature births,
discover new treatments to prevent or halt preterm labor and improve the care
of premature babies.
Thank you to everyone who participated last year. It was so special to know Smith's short life was impacting the lives of others. I know most of you have a special charity you give to this time of year. Jon and I support several organizations in addition to March of Dimes. We just hope that in the season of giving, the season of our savior's birth, you will take a moment to GIVE. Somewhere. And if you take a moment and think of our angel baby while you do, you will make our hearts very happy.
