SURPRISE!#!**!$?!*

Last Friday, I got the biggest, greatest, craziest surprise. I was super tiered after work and decided to chill, watch some Oprah and hopefully take a quick nap before Jon and I went to dinner. Jon rained on my nap parade and insisted I get up and get ready to go eat so we could beat the mad rush at Uncle Julio's. I sluggishly dragged myself off the couch, gave my messy hair some umph with a little hair spray, curled my lashes and slapped on a coat of lip gloss and I was "ready" to go. As I waited quite impatiently for Jon in the study (who claimed we were in a rush) there was a loud knock at the door. I asked Jon who it was and he motioned for me to get the door because he was on the phone. I knew it was probably someone selling something, so I peaked through the peep-hole and quickly became shocked and confused. Could my eyes be deceiving me??? It was MS. LINDSAY REGAN, one of my BEST friends...FROM CHICAGO.....standing at MY front door. ABSOLUTE CRAZINESS!!! I opened the door, which was followed by screaming, jumping around, running the opposite direction (I did that when Lyric told me she was pregnant...no clue), hugging and a lot of "What are you doing here???" My little friend Lindsay just wanted to visit and make it extra exciting by not telling me!!! I was COMPLETELY SURPRISED and actually thought I was losing my mind for a minute. P.S. I'm writing this post in bright purple because I think it helps deliver my feelings of excitement and surprise. Thoughts? Anyway, Lindsay was sneaking around making plans over the past month or so with Lyric and Jon. What great secret keepers!!! Lyric picked Lindsay up at the airport and took some shots of the surprise in action:

My personal favorite!

When I finally calmed down and started putting the pieces together, we decided we needed to grab some food. We actually did go to Uncle Julio's to give Lindsay an amazing Tex-Mex experience.

From there we dropped Jon off at the house and went to Addison for some sparkling wine at this great little place called Mercy. We sat outside, chatted and toasted to the weekend. Rachel met us up there for a drink and we all talked the night away. After a few glasses of bubbly and some delicious dessert, we called it a night and headed home. Of course when we got back to my house and changed into our jammies, we stayed up another couple of hours talking. Jon's always like, "How do girls do that?" and my response is always...we just do!

The next morning, well afternoon by the time we got up, we ran up to Starbucks for some coffee and oatmeal with brown sugar and nuts! If you haven't tried it, you need to! It hits the spot. Our talking distracted us form the time, which it tends to do, so we had to rush home to get ready for the Mavs playoff game! Before Jon knew Lindsay was coming, he and Josh bought Mavs tickets for the four of us. When Jon found out Lindsay was coming, he bought 2 extra seats so Lindsay and I could sit together and invited Tim to take my seat. It all worked out great! Lindsay was so excited to go to her first ever NBA game. I was so happy it was in Dallas!!!There were 2 empty seats next to Lindsay and I, so after the first half, Kim came and sat with us!!! Playoff games are so FUN! The Mavs beat the Spurs...I don't remember the score now, but... we WON!!!

Not sure what I'm laughing/posing about...

From there we walked across Victory Park and lounged for a while at a really cool place called Kenichi.

I never take pictures of Jon and Josh by themselves, so when Lindsay asked for their pic, I thought I'd grab one too.

Unfortunately, my pictures stop there for the night. I'm not sure why...oh well. After kickin' it at Kenichi (I couldn't help myself) we ate a fantastic meal at Maggiano's. Ryan met us up there and entertained as usual. It was the BEST day!

Sunday, we ate brunch on the patio at a little place in Shops at Legacy. I think it's called Main Street something. Helpful I know. Besides a screaming child and his negligent parents and lukewarm caramel machiattos, it was a good time. For our final stop, we picked Jon up at the church and met Lyric, RT and Cole at my parents house. Let me just say, my parents LOVE Lindsay. I knew they would be extremely disappointed if they didn't get to see her. We chatted, my mom tried to get the details and seriousness of Lindsay's relationship with Christian out of her and played outside with Cole while the big boys flew some kites.

And then it was time to say goodbye. As expected, time went by WAY TOO fast. I wish Lindsay could stay for at least a few months...but I'll take the fabulous weekend I got to spend with one of my favorite people on this planet!

Lindsay, Thank you so much for coming all the way to Texas to visit me out of the blue! It was by far the BEST true surprise I've ever had. I still can't believe it! It was great to have 48 hours of GIRL TIME, laugh about crazy times in London and show you around my new house! I love you so much and feel so blessed to have such an amazing friend!!! Thank you, Thank you again. Oh, and feel free to surprise me anytime!!! I also want to give a shout out to Lyric and Jon for helping Lindsay plan this fun surprise! You both did a great job!!!
