I'M GOING TO HOLLYWOOD! I'm not going to Hollywood, but it's almost Hollywood Week on American Idol and I'm so freaking excited! I LOVE American Idol! It's one of the only shows I CAN'T miss. I will say the first few weeks are my least favorite though for two reasons:

1. I really do feel bad for the sweet people who get ripped apart by the judges. Forced to leave. Head down. Dreams crushed.

2. There are only so many completely delusional people who claim they've been compared to Mariah Carey I can handle! When someone says they've been told they sound like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston or Celine Dion in their per-audition interviews, you know they're going to be, as Simon would say, "absolutely dreadful!"

The great thing about Hollywood week is the DRAMA (when they have to sing with a group people go nuts!), you start hearing some amazing vocals and you can begin picking your favorites!

When I was little, I wanted to be a singer. I was in choir, I sang in the shower (and still do), I used to drive my sister crazy singing around the house as loud as I could and was told by my choir teacher I sounded like a young Whitney (The National Anthem fiasco was an isolated incident). Well, maybe those weren't her exact words. Haha! But I really do enjoy singing, love music and fantasize about being a country singer when I'm singing my heart out in the car. I think for those reasons American Idol is highly entertaining and addictive. I love to watch everyday people with amazing talent fight through the competition of a lifetime. Am I being to dramatic?

If you haven't guessed it already, you will be hearing much more about American Idol in the weeks to come. I will try to keep it to a minimum for those of you (crazy people) not following Idol (Rachel). But for those (wonderful people with great TV taste) who do follow the show, I fully expect your comments to be passionate and cut-throat. And please keep the "yo dogg's" to a minimum!

This IS American Idol...
Seacrest Out!
